For example, see figure4-3, at 30,000 feet above sea level the ambient pressure would be 4.36 psi. the cabin altitude can be measured by adding the ambient pressure to the 7.80 psid maintained in side the airplane by the pressurization system: ambient pressure 4.36 psi at 30,000 ft.
