.  We have provided one Air India Telephone extension also so that instructor can communicate with any of the extensions outside simulator.

7.2  B747-400 SIMULATOR -EMERGENCY PROVISIONS AND ACTIONS IN THE EVENT OF FAILURES
7.2.1  Emergency escape ladder: A rope ladder is provided for getting off the simulator in case of an emergency. It is stowed in a box within the maintenance walkway floor, to the right of the Flight compartment door.
7.2.2  Operation :
.  Lift the lid in the floor panelling.

.  Take out the coiled rope ladder and throw it between the top and the middle bar of the railing down to the ground.

.  The best way to exit is to straddle the middle bar and reach down to a convenient step with one foot. While keeping your hands safely on the railing bar, step with the other foot before descending down to the building floor.

7.2.3  Crew access way controls :
In the event of a complete power failure, the motion platform returns to the rest position and the access way automatically lowers. Power to the access way is provided by the emergency power source. Furthermore, in the case where an emergency cut off switch is activated, power to the access way mechanism is maintained and the access way is operative via a switch located at the flight compartment exit.
Motion system and access way can be operated from outside by maintenance personnel in case of emergency.
7.2.4  Fire extinguishing system :
.  Locations of fire extinguishers can be seen before entering the simulator.

.  Fire extinguisher has been provided inside the simulator also next to the entry door.

7.2.5  Safe Path marking: Safe Path exit fluorescent marking can be seen on the floor of the simulator as marked by yellow lines which leads to the emergency exit door of the Simulator hall. This door is marked with fluorescent markings and a well lit 'EXIT' indication.
