Aircraft Communications Service (SITA)
SITA's AIRCOM service provides a highly efficient means of data transfer between applications through the airborne network, the air-ground network and participating ground networks. The inter-networking infrastructure for this global network is the aeronautical telecommunications network.
Aircraft Conflict (MTCD)
Two aircraft are involved in an aircraft conflict if the distance between any probable position of one aircraft at a certain time, and any probable position of the other aircraft at that same time, will be less than the required separation criteria.

Aircraft Conflict Data (MTCD) Aircraft conflict Data consists of system trajectory identifications (2 aircraft) : a) time of first loss of separation between aircraft probable position, plus worst probable positions of both aircraft at this time, plus nominal positions of both aircraft at this time; b) time of minimum distance between aircraft nominal positions, plus  nominal positions of both aircraft at this time; c) time of minimum distance between aircraft probable positions, plus worst probable positions of both aircraft at this time, plus nominal positions of both aircraft at this time; d) time of last loss of separation between aircraft probable position, plus worst probable positions of both aircraft at this time, plus nominal positions of both aircraft at this time.
Aircraft Data (MTCD) The aircraft data required by MTCD for conflict detection calculation. This data consists of: aircraft identification, aircraft type, aircraft equipment.
Aircraft Data Circuit-Terminating Equipment An aircraft specific data circuit-terminating equipment that is associated with an aircraft data link data processor (ADLP). It operates a protocol unique to Mode S data link for data transfer between air and ground.
Aircraft Earth Station See Airborne Earth Station
Aircraft Identification A group of letters, figures, or a combination thereof which is either identical to, or coded equivalent of, the aircraft call sign to be used in air-ground communications, and which is used to identify the aircraft in ground-ground air traffic services communications.
Aircraft Identity Number allocated to a plot by the chaining process to identify all plots that belong to one target object.
Aircraft Movements (Airport) The number of aircraft taking-off or landing on all runways in use (an arrival and a departure are counted as separate movements; a touch and go is one movement).
Aircraft Movements (En-Route & TMA) The number of flights passing through or flying within a specified volume of airspace.
Aircraft Observation The evaluation of one or more meteorological element made from an aircraft in flight.
Aircraft Operating Agencies 1- The person, organisation or enterprise engaged in , or offering to engage in, an aircraft operation (ICAO).
2- In the context of the Flexible Use of Airspace concept, ‘AOA’ encompass all aircraft operations other than aerial work operations, that is to say commercial air transport operations and general aviation operations.
