Area Reminder A reminder that is provided whenever a flight enters a particular region of airspace for which area reminders are active (and the flight is eligible). The reminder will include the details of the flight. The reminder is directed at the Sector Controller that is associated with the specific area reminder. Arrival Management Conformance Monitoring Criteria Constraint point specific criteria that enables MONA to determine the appropriate vertical rate deviation threshold and Vertical altitude deviation threshold to be applied to flights that are subject to control by an arrival manager automated function. Arrival Manager An advanced Functionality Tool the purpose of which is to : a) calculate optimum aircraft arrival sequences and times for flights approaching to defined constraint points considering preferred flight profiles, aircraft types, performance, and weight categories, airspace and runway conditions, inbound flow rate, as well as meteorological (MET) conditions and applying suitable optimisation criteria; b) Present the planned inbound traffic flow at the controller working positions together with suitably generated advisories for the controller in order to meet the planned arrival sequence and times. Arrival Manager Operational Horizon Limits described as eligibility horizon, active advisory horizon and the common path horizon. Arrival Manager Trajectory A single trajectory produced using default SFPL data and other constraints supplied from AMAN. Arrival Manager Users The recipients of the services provided by AMAN. AMAN users are controllers of the different control sectors and the supervisor. Arrival Parking Position The parking position assigned to an arriving flight. Ascending Message (AMAN) AMAN sequence Co-ordination message to relay delay data between neighbouring centres. Asia Region (ICAO) Normally referred to as MID-ASIA region.

Asia/Pacific Air Navigation Planning and Implement
Working in close co-ordination with the ICAO special committee for the development and implementation of FANS Phase II, APANPIRG has developed a broad, high level CNS/ATM implementation document that covers the Asia/Pacific Regions. The ICAO Air Navigation Commission and council (ANC) strongly supports the approach taken by APANPIRG. This document has since been further developed by the ICAO CNS/ATM sub-group and was endorsed by APANPIRG in August 1993. A mature implementation document was completed in mid 1994.
Assessment Centre
A behaviour-oriented method of selection to assess the social and action competence of applicants in job-related situation. Applicants are observed and assessed by trained observers in various standard situations (e.g. role-play, teamwork) with regard to certain competencies.
Asset
A resource usually owned or sometimes controlled by the air navigation services organisation from which future economic benefits are expected to flow to that organisation.
Association
1- A generic function which builds an association between a state vector and a system flight plan, based on various technical means.
