Eligible flight (MTCD) A flight is eligible for MTCD calculations if : a) a system trajectory is available, and; b) the flight will be under control of one, or more, controllers of the area of operation at some moment in time, and; c) the time to entry in the area of operation is less than a pre-defined configuration parameter. A flight is no longer eligible for MTCD calculations if it leaves the area of operation. Emergency Phase A generic term meaning, as the case may be, uncertainty phase, alert phase or distress phase. Enhanced Air Traffic Management and Mode S Implementation in Europe
A EUROCONTROL programme developed in close co-operation with the EUROCONTROL Member States' Air Traffic Services in order to bring about a significant improvement in Air Traffic Management system capacity in Europe and to accommodate traffic increases forecast for the turn of the century. EASIE is aimed at extending the automation of air traffic control functions in order to improve controller productivity, and airspace use, thereby contributing to increased system capacity while maintaining a high level of safety. The programme will be realised in two distinct phases: a System Design Phase starting in mid-1990 and lasting about 5 years and a Realisation Phase of approximately 10 years.
En-Route
A phase of navigation covering operations between a point of departure and termination of a mission.
En-Route Airspace

Entity
